Terry Paul Holmes was born in McKinney, Texas on June 5, 1957, to the parentage George Washington Holmes, Sr. and Claudine Guest Holmes.

Terry received his formal education in the McKinney Independent School District.

Terry accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized and united with Mt. Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church in McKinney, Texas under the leadership of Reverend Leonard Campbell.

Terry was united in marriage to Katie Jefferson in December 1978. To this union three loving children were born.

Terry later moved to Dallas, TX where he spent most of his adult life. He united with Opal Chapell in 2012. To this union one loving son was born.

Terry was a family man - a devoted father, grandfather and uncle that everybody respected and loved. He was a provider, a loyal friend, and an all-around kind and compassionate God-fearing man. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports and . He leaves his mark on everyone who knew and loved him.

On February , 2026, Terry made his transition to glory. He is preceded in death by son, Jeremy Bolin; his parents, George Washington Holmes, Sr. and Claudine Guest Holmes; brothers, Arthell Holmes and George Washington Holmes, Jr. (Pete).

Terry leaves the following to cherish his memory, special friend, Yolanda Nealy of Dallas, TX; sons, Michael Holmes (Carolyn) of Garland, TX, Broderick Holmes of Keylen Holmes (Cynthia) of Princeton, TX and Timothy Chappell of Austin, TX; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Terry leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
