Obituary

Alvin Earl White, a devoted brother, loving uncle and loyal friend, departed this earth on October 1, 2025. Alvin was born May 18, 1958, in Linden, TX to the proud parents, David Pooler and Izorna Harrison. He was the 7th of 10 siblings.

He grew up in Linden, TX and later in life moved to Garland, TX where he graduated from Garland High School. After high school, Alvin started a career doing something that he loved, which was driving. He cherished the role as a truck driver. His love for adventure, combined with a relentless work ethic and a passion for earning a living, defined much of his professional life. He embraced every opportunity to travel the open road, always chasing the next horizon. He coached 20 plus years. He was able to see the world while driving 18-wheelers near and far. He retired from driving to help his family raise his deceased sister's children.

Alvin was tall in stature – standing 6'6" tall. He was a headstrong and intelligent man with a strong belief in God. His faith provided him with the foundation to navigate life's highs and lows, offering him strength, peace, and purpose. He will be remembered for his loving personality, kind heart and gift for connecting with people and always offering a listening ear and words of wisdom. Alvin had the greatest passion for sports. He played football and basketball throughout grade and middle school. He was blessed to spend 20 plus years as a football coach in the Dallas/Garland areas.

Alvin leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Izorna; his brothers, Charles White, William Earl White, Eddie Joe White, Kenny White, Jr. and Billie Ray White; and one sister, Ernestine Pooler.

Alvin leaves the following to cherish his memory: his two brothers, Henry Joe White (Jay) and David Lee White of Linden, TX; and his sister, Venesser Ann White of Linden, TX; along with a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces all whom he loved dearly.
