Obituary

Andra Devera Hardy was born on December 4, 1958, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Erma Jean Gross and Arthur Joseph Reid, Jr. Andra was the eldest of three siblings.

Andra attended LaFollette Elementary School, Garden Holmes Elementary/ Intermediate School, and later graduated from Messmer Catholic High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. From a young age, he developed a deep love for basketball and competition. His athleticism and competitive spirit led him to win several awards in basketball. In his early years of life, he competed in darts and pool tournaments. His passion for sports was something he proudly passed down to his son and grandsons.

Andra began working at an early age, taking jobs at Milwaukee Summerfest and Gimbels Department Store. In 1977, he began his long and dedicated career at Wrought Washer Manufacturing, where he worked faithfully for 36 years until his retirement.

In the spring of 1976, Andra met the love of his life, Diane Holder. Their bond quickly grew into a lifelong partnership. They were married on March 5, 1977, and together built a beautiful family. They were blessed with three loving children: Jarmar Hardy, Tashiba Hardy, and Taia Hardy. Together, Andra and Diane shared nearly 49 years of love, commitment, and memories.

During his leisure time, Andra enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the news, playing on his tablet, attending family gatherings, traveling, and creating humorous moments that brought laughter to those around him. Andre loved playing cards, dominos, and "The lottery". He was loyal to the Green Bay Packers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

He had an unconditional love for all of his grandchildren and took immense pride in their accomplishments. He had a special bond with each child, whether it was attending extracurricular activities, special programs, ordering a pizza to share (preferably extra sauce and sausage), watching the sports games or the news, and playing the tablet. Andra made it a point to be present for the moments that mattered most.

Andra was also known as a gifted storyteller. His stories were often colorful and imaginative, and he had a special way of making everyone believe every word. His humor, warmth, and lively personality made him a joy to be around.

In 2016, Andra moved to Arlington, Texas, to be closer to his daughters and their children. There he built a strong community of neighbors and cherished the time he spent with family. He was loved by many and will always be remembered for his hospitality, humor, and the love he shared with everyone around him.
