Ansley Dealon Herod was born on July 1, 1975, in Fort Worth, Texas to Marilyn Herod. He received his formal education in the Fort Worth Independent School District and was a 1994 graduate of Dunbar High School.

Upon graduating high school, Ansley went on to attend Tyler Junior College and later enlisted in the United States' Air Force. He was employed by Alliance Rx Walgreens, where he worked diligently until his passing.

He is preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Herod, grandmother Narvell Herod, aunt Virginia Herod, and nephew Jameral Edwards.

Ansley leaves behind to mourn his passing, his wife Robin Herod; daughters: Krista (Denise), Desirea, Sarah, Ciona, and Emily; son Bryan; four sisters: Lynn, Robin (Eric), Desiree (Robert) and Zanice; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
