Anthony Esau Lewis, 61, of Dallas, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Mr. Lewis was born in Dallas, Texas on June 24, 1954 to Esau Lewis and Thelma Barnett Lewis.
"Esau" grew up in Dallas and attended Richardson High School and upon graduation, El Centro College. He came to know the Lord at an early age, accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at Haynes Chapel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop F.L. Haynes. Anthony later joined Texas North East Gospel Ensembles under the direction of Annie Hogan. Anthony was also a member of Jeremiah Deliverance, led by his mother, Evangelist, Thelma Lewis. His final Church home was New Mount Zion Baptist Church, where he joined under the late Pastor Dr. Robert E. Price. Lewis was a dedicated and loyal worker for the 7-Up/Dr. Pepper Corporation, before retiring from both, Southland and Kimberly Clark. Along with Charmaine, his wife of over 20 years, Esau started Esau's Kloset. In addition to designing clothes, Esau enjoyed frequent phone conversations and visits with his "Homegirls": Della, Barbara, Carla, Vikki, Susan and Nadia. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister in law, Debra Durham.
He is survived by his wife, Charmaine, and her sons, Christopher Turner, Sr., of Dallas and Ronald Turner, Jr. (Leslie) of St. Louis, MO.; sons, Patrick, Anthony, Antoinette, Antora and Tamara; Brothers, Henry, Melvin and Marion and one sister, Brenda; grandchildren, Alexis, Jalen, Christopher, Kai, Jordan, Nadia and Natalie and a host of other relatives and friends.
