IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anthony Deonne
Scott
June 21, 1967 – November 24, 2022
Anthony Deonne Scott, 55, transitioned in Dallas, Texas, on Thanksgiving Day,
November 24, 2022.
Anthony (Tony), born to parents Robert Scott who survives him, and Zelphia Perkins
Scott, who predeceased him in transition, graced this earth with his presence on June
21, 1967, in Dallas, Texas.
Tony graduated from Arlington High School and attended the University of
Arlington, Texas.
The absolute joy of Tony's life was his only son, Joshua Fe Deckard, born on March
26, 1996, who survives him (Mother: Doris G. Deckard). Tony and Josh, or Joshie as
he affectionately referred to him, shared a special bond from midnight movies on
theatre release days to hanging out at eclectic, niche coffee shops sharing crafted
coffees and photo opportunities. One of Tony's finest moments was Josh's graduation
day from Syracuse University. Josh remembers how supportive his "pops" was while
he was attending college and Josh's graduation day.
Tony was a passionate marketing executive. He consulted with major studios in
Hollywood on faith-based films and social media outreach. Tony was widely
respected for his thought leadership, insight, unconventional wisdom, and ability to
unify, engage and impact the lives of diverse audiences.
Tony began his career as an advertising manager for Pro-line corporation at the
youthful age of nineteen. Nearly a decade later, he launched his own boutique
advertising agency.
Tony was an ordained Elder at The Potter's House of Dallas, Texas, where he also
served as the ministry's Head of Marketing and Creative Strategy until 2013. Tony
had a great passion and commission to share the message of God's Grace. Through
writing, speaking, and working with philanthropic organizations like the Christina
Grimmie Foundation, where he invested his talent to help the organization serve the
families of victims of mass gun violence, his mission to share God's grace was
fulfilled.
Tony's vision of the best version of his life was to travel, write and take photos.
Mission accomplished. Since 2021, Tony has worked in publishing, written several
books, traveled the globe, and taken photographs that various global brands
published.
Those left to cherish his memories are his Loving Son, Joshua Fe Deckard; Father,
Robert Scott; Sister, Tracey Scott; Brother, Donovan Wright (Nicole); Second Mom,
Patricia Garrett Scott; Nephew, Elijah T. Wright; Mother of his son, Rev. Doris G.
Deckard; Aunts, Maxine Davis, and Yvonne Perkins; Cousins Michael Davis and
Alexis Franklin.
Special Friends: Limmie L. Tyler III, Kim Drayton, Candace R. Coker-Deckard,
Rev. Mary Dean Martin, Greg Reyna, Mark Hitchcock, and a Host of Nieces,
Nephews, Relatives, and Friends from all over the globe.
