Arbenice Hubbard was born on August 7, 1934 in Plano, Texas to the parents of Dee and Preble Hubbard.
She attended Plano Schools and graduated from Frederick Douglass in May of 1952.
At an early age she became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. L. H. Harper. On November 23, 1957 Arbenice and Billy R. Stokes were married and to this union three children were born.
Arbenice was employed by Luminators and retired after 30 years of service. She enjoyed family fellowship and cooking for her family. Shopping was her comfort and passion. She attended church until her health limited her to home healthcare.
Arbenice passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents Dee Hubbard and Preble Lee Davis Hubbard; one brother: L. A. Hubbard; one sister: Jessie Moore; one son: Mark Stokes; and one grandson: Lamar Stokes
Arbenice leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband of 60 years, Billy Ray Stokes; children: Melony Stokes (Wesley) and Valerie Williams (Reginald, Sr.); stepdaughter: Patricia Smith; daughter-in-law: Opal Stokes; siblings: Vera Mae Johnson and Geneva Stimpson; grandchildren: Marcus Stokes, Desmond Stokes, Ronnie Brown, Kealei Oliphant, Reginald Williams, Jr., Dijon Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.
