Obituary

On February 24, 2025, Barbara Jean Bailey humbly answered God's call and entered into eternal rest with peace and grace. Barbara Jean White was born on July 11, 1954, in Bastrop, TX, to Bob and Jean White.

After relocating to Grand Prairie, TX, Barbara accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church. She attended high school in Grand Prairie, TX.

Barbara met and married Brazil Bailey and to this union they lovingly welcomed and raised daughters, Ursula White and Tashia White whose lives she enriched with love and wisdom. Barbara loved her family dearly; Brazil and the girls were her greatest joy.

Barbara began her working career in the financial industry. With pride and dedication, she pursued a career as a loan officer of which she held for 30 years. Her career was defined by her compassion and love for her job. Her friendly demeanor, and excellent communication skills helped her establish trust with clients and colleagues; succeeding in her profession.

BB, as she was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, resilience and unwavering faith in God. Those who knew BB will remember her for her infectious smile, and compassionate heart, her deep-rooted love for her family, and her unwavering commitment to spreading kindness to everyone she encountered.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Jean White; brother, Bob William White; and nephew, Christopher Andre White.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Brazil Bailey; two daughters, Ursula Olwalia and Tashia White; two grandsons, Derrick Olwalia and Darrion Brooks (BB's Babies). Her memory will be cherished by her siblings, Ruby Lee, Reginald White (Donna), Booker T. White, Charlie White, Curtis White and Marilyn Spencer (Dwight); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Barbara's memory will live on through the lives she touched, the love she gave, and the joy she shared. Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her loved ones in the presence of the Lord.
