Ben Arthur Mitchell affectionately known as
"FatDaddy" was born on November 12th, 1943, to
John Mitchell and Mattie M. Mitchell in Oakwood,
Texas.

The family later relocated to Grand Prairie, Texas where he attended
Dalworth School and graduated in 1962. In 1965, Ben married the love
of his life, Jimmie Lee Mitchell and to that union he was blessed with
two children.

Ben gave his life to Christ as a young man and served in many different
capacities in the Church, such as steward and usher.

He was known by many as Big Ben, Fat, and FatDaddy. He retired
from the workforce after being employed by Oil State Industries for 30
years.

Ben gained his wings on March 17th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Mitchell and Mattie Mitchell; sister, Carey John-
son; sister-in-law, Delois Mitchell; brothers, Sam Newman and James Newman.

Ben leaves to celebrate his wonderful life, and cherish his great memo-
ries his loving wife, Jimmie L. Mitchell; children, Travis Mitchell

(Tresa) and Michelle Mitchell; nephew, Tyre Franklin (Marla); niece
Semetra Franklin; sister, Beverly Mitchell; brothers, Joe W. Johnson
(Jackie), Reverend W.L. Johnson (Florence), Elder J. R. Mitchell;
grandchildren, Rickey, Brandon, Travis, Ashley, Tremaine, Jabrea; his
special great grandson Rickey, Jr. of whom he called "Junior Boy" and
a host of family and friends that he loved dearly.
