Obituary

On September 6, 1949, in Nevada, Texas, Sammie (Woodson) Walton and Dave Walton were blessed with another baby girl, Bertha. Bertha had a heart of gold and she loved Jesus Christ her Lord and Saviour. She loved her father, mother and siblings dearly. She was truly a "daddy's girl" being the baby of the family.

She attended Dodie School in McKinney, Texas. Bertha always attended church; however, she was a member of Lively Hill Church of God in Christ until 2017. She later joined First Church of McKinney, Texas.

In 1970, Bertha joined Billy J. Arps in holy matrimony. Throughout the beginning and the end, the two loved each other and they were devoted until her passing. Bertha was a proud mother of four children and opened her home to many more.

Bertha is preceded in death by her father, Dave Walton; mother, Sammie Mae Walton; brothers, S.W. Johnson, James R. Johnson and Samuel E. Cecil.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Billy J. Arps of McKinney, TX.; twos sons: Leroy Walton (Deloris) of McKinney, TX. and Billy J. Arps of Plano, TX.; two daughters: Linda Arps-Guthrie (Erick) of Plano, TX. and Kimberly Arps Wafer (Toni Jackson) of Dallas, TX.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Clinton Hill (Sally) of Garland, TX.; sister Birder Mae Locket of Garland, TX. and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
