Obituary

B.J. Dennis lived his life on his own terms. Gifted with insightful, yet
comical humor, he could engage anyone on any number of topics ranging
from sports, entertainment to politics.
Born December 24, 1950, in Hollis, Oklahoma, he was the oldest child of
Bob and Mazell Dennis.
B. J. was a 1969 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Fort
Worth, Texas. A Vietnam era veteran of the United States Air Force, he
served tours of duty --both stateside and in Thailand. Following his
honorable discharge from military service, he used his GI Bill benefits and
enrolled in Tarrant County College.
In 1985, Dorothy Bradix and BJ met at the Post Office and have been
inseparable for 39 years, until his transition.
B. J. worked several jobs including General Dynamics and Frito-Lay but
spent the bulk of his career at the United States Post Office where he
retired in 2012.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Bob and Maazell Dennis;
and brother, Gary.
B.J. leaves to mourn numerous survivors including his longtime
companion/wife, Dorothy Bradix; two sons, Eric Anthony Dennis
(Lejeanna) and Brandon J. Dennis (Semetria); stepchildren, Tabitha Lee,
Nicholas Lee and Kareem Bradix; 18 grandchildren and 8 great
grandchildren; four brothers, Kenneth Dennis (Mary), Kevin Dennis
(Vickie), Gilbert Dennis (Val) and Derrick Dennis; two sisters, Debra
Dennis-Williams (Roger) and Deidra Dennis along with a host of other
loving relatives and friends.
