IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bobby Darin
Edwards
October 20, 1965 – August 14, 2023
LIFE STORY FOR
Deacon Bobby Darin Edwards
(Oogie)
First Breath: October 20, 1965 – Last Smile: August 14, 2023
Bobby Darin Edwards "Oogie", was born to Robert James Edwards Sr. and Bobbie Jean
Johnson Edwards. Bobby lived in Madison, Florida until he graduated from Madison County
High School in 1983. Upon graduating from high school, Bobby relocated to Panama City,
Florida, where he enrolled into Gulf Coast Community College to become a pilot. After not
realizing his dream of becoming a pilot because of his loss of hearing, he moved to the Dallas/
Fort Worth area where he resided until his death.
Bobby is preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Jean Johnson Edwards, his father Robert
James Edwards, Sr., and brother Robert Edwards, Jr.
Bobby handed his life over to God when he joined New Rising Baptist Church in Mansfield,
Texas. Bobby especially enjoyed his family and had a special love for his grandchildren, great
grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Those who spent time with him can remember his
engaging smile, laughter, and fun times.
Mournfully, on August 14, 2023, Bobby gave us his last smile and traded his battle clothes for
a robe of glory and entered into eternal rest.
Among those who will forever cherish his memory are his loving children Breshon Edwards of
Arlington, Texas, Jecarri Robinson of Charlotte, North Carolina.
He also leaves his siblings: Sheila Edwards of Leonardtown, Maryland, Joesph Edwards
(Kathy Trickey) of Douglasville, Georgia, James Edwards of Sparta, Georgia, Sarah Rhodes
(Ruffin) of Orlando, Florida, Ella Edwards and Denise Quick both of Madison, Florida,
Corrine Felix (Michael) of Tampa Florida. Grandchildren King Jackson, Kielle Motley and
Janiah Robinson. One great granddaughter and countless other relatives and sorrowing friends.
