Brenda Grant Mackmiller was born on January 15, 1951, to the late M.C. Grant, Sr. and the late Vera Lee Grant in Houston, Texas. She grew up in an area of Houston formerly known as Kashmere Garden, with her grandmother Minnie Ola Castle. She receiver her formal education in Houston. She later attended E.O. Smith Junior High School and graduated from Wheatley High School in 1967.

Brenda accepted Christ at an early age. She later went off to college and graduated. She then met Richard Pearson, they married and were blessed with a son Derrick. She was the manage of Texas Commerce Bank in Houston and later taught High School for many years.

Brenda late met James Lewis II and they became married. To their union one son, Lewis James III was born. She relocated to Philadelphia, PA. and worked for the IRS for 10 years. After her tenure with Philadelphia IRS she relocated to Allen, Texas and worked for the IRS there and retired after 10 years of service.

On Friday, August 5, 2022 at the age of 71, Brenda peacefully transition from her life in ICU to be with the Lord in her Heavenly Home. She is preceded in death by her son Lewis James III.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memories, brothers: MC Grant II (Joan), and Mike Grant (Olive "Jean"); sister Demtria Grant; granddaughter Jasmine, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
