IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Calvin L
Roland
August 9, 1978 – February 10, 2026
Calvin Leon Roland was born August 9, 1978, in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Patricia Ann Miller and Leon Roland. He was a loving son, devoted brother, treasured nephew and faithful friend whose life was defined by service, generosity, faith in God and the goodness of people.
Calvin discovered his passion for preaching at an early age at East Garland COGIC. You could see him everywhere preaching and telling everyone about the word of God. He loved the Lord! He joined Perfect Praise COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Corey T. Mapps where he went everywhere to help his pastor in service.
Calvin later became a member of Victory Outreach Church of Dallas, TX under the leadership of Pastor Jesse Perez whom he called his spiritual father. On Mondays, he along with members of Victory Outreach would meet at the Salvation Army to spread the Word of God; and on Wednesday nights, carry out Men's Bible Study. He loved acting in plays/productions at Victory Outreach. He preached with fire and love to the homeless and drug addicts; preaching at rallies and sharing the Word of God to anyone that would listen. His life was truly dedicated to the Lord.
In his personal life, Calvin found happiness in life's simple pleasures - time with family, shared meals, meaningful conversations, and loving on his dogs, Prada Mae Roland and Cashmere Roland. Those who knew him will remember his gentle spirit, hearty laugh, thoughtful counsel, and genuine interest in the well-being of others. He loved people. And they loved him back!
Calvin transitioned from his Earthly home to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Erma Jean Miller; his aunts, Cinder Dawn, Mary Jean and Cora Marshall; and other loved ones who welcomed him home.
He leaves the following to cherish his memory: his brothers, Corey R. Miller of Dallas, TX and Brandon K. Roland of Plano, TX; his grandmother, Yvonne Shannon of Plano, TX; his uncles, Calvin Shannon of Josephine, TX and Tony Shannon of Plano, TX; his aunts, Evelyn Washington of Waco, TX and Sharon Palmore of McKinney, TX; his Godmother, Sandra Dixon of Garland, TX; his best friend, Jerry Jones of Dallas, TX; and a host of cousins and friends whom he loved very much.
We say farewell to a gentle soul whose life touched many and whose memory will forever bless our lives. Calvin's gentle presence will be deeply missed, but the warmth of his spirit lives on in all who knew him.
