Chadrick "Cedric" Dewayne Thornton was born March 13, 1981 to the parentage of Sherman Shaw Jr. and Gwen Thornton.  Cedric attended McKinney ISD and graduated from McKinney High School in 2001.  Cedric was an outstanding athlete.  Cedric was blessed with artistic talents and had a passion for painting. Cedric also was talented in drawing and making jewelry. Cedric was a very caring, loving, and giving young man.

Cedric joined Bethlehem Christian Church at an early age under the leadership of the late Pastor Travis Lee.  Cedric later served under the leadership of Pastor Kavin E. Brown.

Cedric leaves to cherish his memory, parents, Sherman and Sheila Shaw, mother, Gwen Thornton (Bobby), grandmothers, Jessie Shaw and Mildred Grayson, siblings Shanique Nash and Sharae Thornton, nephew Kameron J. Thornton, and niece, Aryana N. Thornton.  Cedric also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
