Charles Jerome Johnson was born on September 9, 1964 to Louis Sr. and Vera Johnson. He was the second of the twins to enter this world. Charles was granted his angel wings on November 6, 2018, surrounded by his family whom he shared his memorable life.
Charles had a beautiful smile and a loving heart. He treated everyone with kindness and respect. He was a family man, a devoted husband and an outstanding father. He was intelligent, outspoken, funny and gave great advice. There was aura about his quiet nature which alluded his great personality. He never met a stranger. He would give someone the shirt off his back. He was an amazing brother and a good friend to many. He had a passion for cooking, he could cook a full course meal in under an hour.
Charles accepted Christ at an early age at Emma Zion Baptist Church and later on joined Grace Missionary Baptist Church where he was an active member until his demise. He served on the Usher Board, Brotherhood and Male Chorus.
He attended Melville High School in Louisiana and graduated in 1983. He later moved to Texas and resided here for a number of years, he then relocated to Sacramento, California in 2001 where he lived until returning to Texas with his wife, Karen in March of 2016. He was employed with All Pro Roofing for many years and Walmart from April 2016 until his demise.
With the passing of the late Nedra Howard in 2001, he became the father of three young boys.
Charles met Karen Leach in 2008 and they became married on August 20, 2018. They were inseparable and you never saw one without the other. From their beautiful union he gained four stepchildren.
He was an avid Cowboys fan. His hobbies included music, cooking, and photography.
Charles was preceded in death by both his parents, Louis Sr. and Vera Johnson and special dad Clyde Neely.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Karen Johnson; four stepchildren: Michael Calvin of California, Tiffany Boyce of Sacramento, CA., Xavier Whitfield of Haywood, CA., and Joshua Whitefield of Sacramento, CA.; three sons: Andre Howard (Dawaylla) of Odessa, TX., Adrian Howard (Crystal) of Dallas, TX., Andrew Howard of Roy City, UT.; ten grandchildren; six siblings and one stepbrother: Louis Johnson, Jr. (Regina) of Garland, TX., Clara Johnson-Willis (Anthony) of Garland, TX., Carolyn Johnson of Garland, TX., Darlene Oliver (James) of Sacramento, CA., Charlene Johnson of Garland, TX., Gerald Johnson (Tabatha) of Saint Joe, MO., and Adrian Rhoden of Greenville, TX. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
