Obituary

On November 21, 2018, Cheryl aka "Scoobi" Ann Hamlin, at the age of 62, born in Oklahoma City, OK, was called home to be with the Lord.  She was born on October 29, 1956 in Oklahoma City, OK.  She is the daughter of her parents, Theodore Hamlin and Rosolyn Ann Prewitt.  Cheryl was given the nickname Scoobi by mother Rosolyn.  She was the oldest of her seven siblings and at early age was active member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church.
Cheryl, at earlier age was raised by her grandmother Ester Lucille Prewitt along with her great¬ grandmother Magnolia Watson in the importance of money management, organization, and discipline.  These attributes proved to be a life asset when dealing with her sisters and brothers.  Cheryl was seen as a huge motherly figure throughout her adolescence life up to early adult years for her siblings. She was often viewed even as teenager, as a second mother to her siblings and was known to reprimand them initially after her mother.
Cheryl was a member of the Class of 1974 at Douglas High School. Upon graduation, she immediately started her family life.  Cheryl first love was Lafayette Holloway. They had their first child Nile Kahlil Holloway.  Later on in life, Cheryl had a second love by the name of Claude Richard Jennings. They also had two children, Claude Richard Jennings II and Nina Novella Jennings.
Cheryl relocated to Texas with only five-hundred dollars in her pocket along with three children. She became an employee of the Associates Company, a division of Ford Motor Credit, for 5 plus years. Cheryl was very independent and at times she would get calls from Lafayette and Claude asking her if she needed help and she would reply with, "I got it"!   Cheryl was very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren daily raising and lives.  She was the loudest grandmother at her grandson football and basketball games.  Her greatest joy was watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, grow and thrive in life.
Cheryl is survived by her three children Nile Kahlil Holloway, Claude Richard Jennings II and wife, Jessica Jennings along with Nina Novella Jennings; grandchildren, Che'kara aka "Tu Shus" Underwood, Daylan R. Milligan, Zoey "Zoe Pop" Ann Milligan and great grandchildren, Eric D. Underwood, Zayveon Kahlil Underwood and Nyonnie Z. Underwood.  Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Jacqueline Jordan and Rashid J. Battle, Racarol McGee, Teddy Hamlin Jr. and Maurice Hamlin.
In addition, Cheryl was preceded by her parents, Theodore Hamlin and Rosolyn Ann Prewitt, grandmother Ester Lucille Prewitt, great¬ grandmother Magnolia Watson, brother Steve, LaMon Manuel, and sister Angela aka "Angel"  Kaye Jordan.
