He was awarded many trophies in public speaking. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1978. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington but decided, later on, to take a different career path and joined the US Navy on September 13, 1983, where he traveled abroad.
Clarence, Jr. accepted Christ in his life at a young age and he joined Chapel Crest Baptist Church in 1964. He participated in the youth department under the founder of the church, Rev. Curtis Mayes, Sr. His mother was the youth director at that time. He was also a part of the youth choir and participated in other church activities.
On September 30, 1994, he married his lovely wife Pamelia Brown. Pamelia always referred to him as CJ. CJ and Pamelia had a love for animals especially breeding and training dogs.
