On August 1, 1968, Cornell Lewis was born to Ms. Mary A. Lewis and Mr. Michael Taylor. He was called into the Kingdom of God on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

Cornell was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana and received his education in the Orleans Parish School System. At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church. In 2005, Cornell and his family were uprooted by Hurricane Katrina, they then relocated to Dallas, Texas. He was employed by Mi-T-Fine Carwash for many years.

He is preceded in death by his mother-in-law Elizabeth Johnson, uncle Darrell Lewis and aunt Brenda Lewis Riley.

Cornell leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Denise Lewis; two daughters: Ka'Nise and Crystal Lewis; son Cornell Lewis, Jr.; mother Mary A. Lewis; grandmother Vernita Lewis; sister Monique Watson; two brothers: Brian Lockett and Darris Wharton; sister-in-law Deborah Johnson; two brother-in-law: Kenneth Johnson and Bahiy Watson; four nephews; six nieces; two uncles; four aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.
