David Bernard Hawkins was born April 6, 1967, to Marlene Hawkins. He attended high school at Garland High and South Oak Cliff High School.

David worked for VSSI Inc. Staffing Services and security on the weekends.  He enjoyed lifting weights and spending time with his family and friends. He confessed his faith at Greenville Ave Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Willie Mae Hawkins, Luevenia Booker, Estella Mae Breedlove; and grandfather Willie Breedlove.

He departed this life on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. Leaving to cherish his memory:  wife, Alma Hawkins; mother, Marlene Hawkins; sister LaTisha Shepherd (Charles); nieces, Tegan Ailani Mingo and Channing Alonah Shepherd. Aunt Darlene Jackson; Uncles Anthony and Adam Breedlove; the Henton Family  and a host of other cousins and friends that loved him dearly.
