David Tarnard McQueen was born in Dallas, Texas on June 4, 1962 to David M. McQueen and Soundra F. McDuff.

Tarnard, as he was known to his family and friends, was educated in the Dallas School District and he graduated from Justin F. Kimball High School in 1980.  He began his trucking career at Central Freight.  He also worked for Roadway, LTD Express, Sherwin Williams and Univar USA.

Throughout his life he attended and served in many churches, he accepted Christ while he was a member of Victory Temple COGIC. He also attended Greater Harvest COGIC and Greater Davis COGIC.  At the time of his transition, he was a faithful member of New Generation Holiness Church for 15 years. He worked with the Youth Department, Brotherhood, Sunday School Treasurer, choir and praise team. He also worked with the Bus Ministry.

On June 6, 1992, Tarnard was united in holy matrimony with Lea Sharon Jackson. They were blessed to raise five children.

Tarnard was preceded in death by his father David M. McQueen; grandparents: Vernon Board, Lady Ruth McQueen and Lillie Board Randle and siblings: Vashon McQueen and Lisa McGee.

Tarnard leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 26 years, Lea Sharon; mother Missionary Soundra McDuff; father Reagor Gibson; five children: Alona, Brandon, T'Aira, Torrell and Darrien; five brothers: Jarryl (Belinda), Darryl, Aaron, Taiwan (Shelia) and Quincent; three sisters: Sophia, Mindee and Donya (Lewis); four grandchildren: Jimmy, Jimiya, Tavion, Deion and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Beverly Jackson; father-in-law Jesse Jackson (Sara) and two brother-in-law Steve and Trevor.
