The beautiful Deatrice Anjanette Chatman Goodson was born in Natchez, Mississippi on February 20, 1964. She passed away peacefully at 12:42 a.m. on February 27, 2025, at the age of 61 years old, at her home located at 4921 Brookridge Avenue, McKinney, Texas 75071, where she resided for the past 21 years with her caring husband, Larry James Goodson, Sr. of 33 years.

Deatrice graduated from Natchez High School and earned her bachelor's in Business Administration in 2009. She loved bowling and fishing. She had a passion for decorating, painting, and cooking.

Deatrice's home was always open, serving as a gathering place for family and friends. She loved people, loved spending time with her family, and cooking for the holidays just to see the smiles on her family and friends' faces. She loved fostering a loving environment, and her love for nurturing things was evident in her beautiful garden, which she lovingly tended for years along with her adopted pets whom she cherished.

Deatrice is proceeded in death by her grandmother, Lucille Dunmore Clark; father, Henry Chatman; mother, Gloria Chatman Beemer; middle sister, Doreatha Chatman; and youngest brother, Lawrence Chatman Clark.

Deatrice leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Larry James Goodson Sr.; a daughter, Evangela Monique Goodson Kalaudzic (Bojan); stepdaughter, Ashley Jennetta Goodson; stepson, Larry James Goodson, Jr. (Recena); grandchildren, Davion, La'Derian, Larry III, Landon, Riyah, Isla, and Raelah who adored her dearly.

She will be forever remembered and cherished by a sister, Millicent Grant; brother Greg Chatman; twin brother, Henry Chatman; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and innumerable friends.
