A LIFE WELL LIVED
Debra Ann Hodges

Debra Ann Hodges was born on August 27, 1963, to the parentage of Clifton Ray Hodges and
Virginia Pearl Hodges in Coolidge,(Limestone County) Texas. She was the only girl born to the
union of Clifton Ray and Virginia Hodges.
Debra Ann received her formal education in the Dallas Independent School District in Dallas,
Texas. She was a graduate of James Madison High School's Class of 1981.
Debra Ann accepted Christ into her life at an early age.
In 1992, at the age of 29, she married her love, Kevin Cooper. To this union, three beautiful
daughters were born, Tiffany, Angela and Erica. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She
was a devoted mother who poured her heart into raising daughters to be upstanding young
women. She was a doting grandmother who always made time for her grandchildren, especially,
Nathan.
Debra Ann was employed with Parkland Hospital for about a year and then began her career in
food services. She worked in food services for a couple of companies and then became
employed with the Dallas Independent School District as a food service worker. She retired after
20 years of service.
Debra Ann was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and
friend. She was a fun loving, selfless and compassionate woman and who had a smile that was
contagious in any room. Her heart was big enough for everyone to feel love. She loved the Lord
and was great example of a God-fearing woman. She always found the best in people and
would help anyone she could.
In her free time, Debra Ann enjoyed reading, couponing, shopping and doing her nails. She was
a lover of PBS of which the British comedy "Keeping Up Appearance" was her favorite show.
Debra Ann Cooper passed away on March 2, 2024. She was preceded in death by hers parents,
Clifton Ray Hodges and Virginia Pearl Hodges; two siblings, Willie Hodges and Jeffery Hodges.
She leaves to cherish her legacy and memories: her loving daughters, Tiffany Hodges, Angela
Hodges and Erica Hodges; grandchildren, Ray, Jessikah, Kalliyah, Jeniah, Nathan, Damiana,
and Zahir; great grandchildren Jaylee and Jabare. She also leaves behind her brothers, Clifton
Hodges, Jr. and Robert Hodges; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and
friends. She will be deeply missed by those who had the opportunity to meet and get to know
her.
