IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Denice Lashawn
Terrell
August 4, 1972 – February 24, 2024
Denice Lashawn Mills-Terrell was born August 4, 1972 to the late
JoAlice Mills and Jerry Alexander. In Denice early years, she lived
in West Dallas with her grandmother, Hattie Meshack. Denice loved
her grandmother dearly and this is where she inherited the spirit of
love.
Through her grandmother, she inherited and embraced the skills of
nurturing, caring, and most importantly love which she spread to all
who crossed her path, but ultimately began with loving and caring for
her younger sisters and brothers, and continued with all those that
shared her bloodline and many who did not.
Denice exemplified "love" in her life. If you knew Denice, you
couldn't help but love her. Denice was love; she lived, loved and
enjoyed life to the fullest.
Denice attended LG Pinkston High School and graduated in 1990
with honors. While in high school, Denice was blessed to receive an
opportunity through Parkland Memorial Hospital to attend a Court
Reporting School/Program which began her 32 year career as a
Medical Professional.
Denice began her career as a student intern in 1986 at Parkland
Memorial Hospital. Her career progressed during her employment at
Parkland which ranged from a Pathologist Medical Transcriptionist
and later as the Supervisor of the Pathology Medical Transcriptionist
Department. Denice was an exemplary employee at Parkland
Memorial Hospital from 1986 through 2015.
Denice later went to work as a Medical Professional for Baylor Scott
and White Medical Center and Baylor University Medical Center.
Denice never stopped pursuing greatness. She attended University of
Phoenix, Class of 2006 and continued growing by studying Health
Information Management at Rasmussen College.
She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young adult and
never wavered from her love for God. Denice loved the Lord.
Denice met her Boaz, Demond Terrell, the love of her life in June
2013, and it was love at first "laughter". Denice Mills and Demond
Terrell were married in Las Vegas, April 9th, 2018 surrounded by
their loved ones. Mr. and Mrs. Demond Terrell were inseparable.
There are no words to express the love Denice Lashawn Mills-
Terrell shared with her husband Demond, she affectionately called
DT. They were truly best friends. They did everything
together. Denice and DT lived, laughed, ate, traveled, fished, and
spread love truly as God loved the church.
Denice was a mother to many, her bonus daughter, her nieces,
nephews and godchildren. Denice spirit truly exemplified love and
she spread love wherever she went.
Denice Lashawn Mills-Terrell was preceded in death by her
grandmother, Hattie Meshack, mother, JoAlice Mills, father, Jerry
Alexander and niece, DaNetra Washington.
Denice leaves to mourn: her husband, Demond Terrell; bonus
