Obituary

On June 13, 2019, DeQuayan Scott Adams heard his name called and followed the path God laid for him. He took His hand and crossed over into eternal rest and peace at the age of 31 in Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

DQ, as he was affectionately known, was born on October 1, 1987 in Grand Prairie, Texas to Ronnie Bell and Shannon Adams. DQ attended Grand Prairie High School from 2002 - 2006 where he made lifelong relationships with students and teachers and graduated from Job Corps of America in 2007 and received his CNA - Geriatrics.  He later attended and graduated from International Hospitality and Flight Academy in Vancouver, WA.  where he studied travel, tourism, and hospitality. Upon completion of his training, he worked at Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge in Denali National Park, Alaska from spring 2018 until the winter of 2018. He then moved to Copper Mountain Resort in Summit County, Colorado until the spring of 2019,  and on to Totem Inn in Healy, AK where he had recently decided to call home.

From his birth to his death, DeQuayan "DQ" Adams nourished his family, friends, and co-workers of all walks of life and backgrounds with his love, friendship, kindness, and faith.  DQ truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures;  chatting and hanging out with family, friends, and co-workers. He loved traveling (especially road trips with his sister), playing video games, seeing and working in new locations, and experiencing new adventures. Yes, although his time on this earth has ended, he lived his life to the fullest.  He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive and very profound way.  In life, he was loved dearly and his smile and gentle spirit will be remembered;  for his love will still be our guide.

DeQuayan Adams is survived by his loving parents, Ronnie Bell and Shannon Adams of Grand Prairie, TX.; Godmother, Susan Wesley of Grand Prairie, TX.;  Sister, best friend and lifelong supporter, Kijafa R. Adams of Irving, TX., and his nephew, Kaden Johnson;  Brothers, Ronnie Bell, Jr. and Donnie Bell of Grand Prairie, Tx.; Godbrothers, Michael Wesley and Jivas Ashton of Grand Prairie, TX.; Grandparents, James Adams of Riverside, California and Ginger Adams of Grand Prairie, TX.;  Douglas and Ada Hawkins of Colleyville, TX. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
