On December 23, 1948, Dessa Lean Spencer was born to the parentage of Ernest Ghoston and Lena Bell Lewis in Linden, Texas.

Dessa accepted Christ at an early age. She worked at the Hilton Hotel for fifteen years. She also worked at the Renaissance Hotel for four years.

Dessa attended El Bethel Baptist Church in Rowlett, Texas under the leadership of Reverend William McDonald. She served as the church secretary for many years. Dessa loved singing in the choir. A couple of her favorite songs she loved to sing were "Let Me Lean on You" and "I'll Make it Somehow". Dessa served faithfully until her health declined.

Dessa was a woman of colors that loved to shine just like her smile. She was a strong, loving and kind Godfearing woman who truly without a doubt, loved God who will be greatly missed.

She also leaves behind a host of:
Nieces, nephews, cousins and two special friends, Helen
Schwettmann and Annie Propes.

Dessa Lean Spencer did all that she could to be the best mother and friend that anyone could ask for. Now, she has gone to a better place...a place where there's no more sickness, no more heartaches, no more pain. She's in heaven where there's joy, peace and love. She is with God and her loved ones who went before her.
