IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dora Mosetta
Smith
September 30, 1925 – March 15, 2024
Dora Mosetta Trigg was born September 30th, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Marion W. Trigg and Estella Nance-Trigg who preceded her in death. Dora was the middle child and only girl of three siblings, John Clem Trigg and M.W. Trigg, Jr.
Dora began her career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse after graduating from Texas College in Tyler, Texas and worked in her field for over 50 years. She later married, Wesley Jay Taylor and together they had four beautiful children: Sherry Lynn Taylor, who preceded her in death, Emily "Wiffi" Taylor, Wesley Jay Taylor, Jr., and Kimothy Mark Taylor. After divorcing her first husband, she later married Ben Smith and was happily married for over 20 years until his passing in 1987. She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family first and cherishing every moment spent with them.
Dora loved spending time with her family, traveling, dancing, laughing and creating memories with them. She learned how to play the piano at a young age, and she used her gift of music to play and director the Senior Choir at Ezell Chapel CME Church, where she has been a member for over 90 years. She loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God's Word. She raised her children in the fear and admonition of God through firmness and gentleness of teaching. She believed in the power of prayer, and only Heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and community. Her faithfulness and devotion to God has blessed her to have a long fulfilling life.
Left to cherish her memory: daughter, Emily "Wiffi" Taylor; sons, Wesley and Kimothy Taylor; grandchildren, Sherrell "She" Brewster (Randolph), DeMario Gates, Benjamin Taylor, Candice Taylor, Anthony Reynolds, Mark Taylor (Angel), Kymberli Taylor–Grant (Giovanni), Christopher Tanksle, Kyle Taylor; great-grandchildren, Asha, Amari, Amia, Devon, Zaria, Keilon, Jaila, Ashari, Kirsten, Ari, Austin, Jordyn, Juliyn, Jaxsyn, Jestyn, Jaidyn, Serginho, Kanon, Chandler, Kamira, Kaden, Ava, Kingston; special nieces and nephew Vecelia Miller, Estella Osoko, and Mardio Trigg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
