Doris Louise Thomas was born on October 20, 1939 in Waco, Texas to the parentage of Charlie Hansford and Dorothy Mae White. She received her education form the Grand Prairie Independent School District and graduated from Dalworth High School in 1958.
Doris accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of McIntosh CME Church under the leadership of Rev. James Smith. She was a very active member of the church's choir and served diligently.
She worked as an Air Traffic Controller for over 10 years until later retiring. She was an outgoing and loving person. She was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and she served as President of the Apollo Ten S/C Club from 1969 until her passing.
On January 5, 2021, Doris answered the call of her Heavenly Father to rest peacefully in His Arms. She is preceded in death by, her father Charlie Hansford; mother Dorothy White; stepfather Samuel White; brother Charlie Harbert and grandson Bra'Shun Anthony Hernandez.
Ms. Doris leaves to cherish her memories, her children: Paula Thomas, Pamela Moody (Sammie), Alicia Thomas, Carl Thomas (Jennifer), and Dion Thomas; eleven grandchildren: David, Kenneth, Karrick, Jazmyne, Christian, Cameron, Dion, Jr., Diesel, Latomia, Erma, and Braxston; eighteen great-grandchildren; sister Billie Jean Hansford and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
