“Wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories.” Doris Frank Booker was born on February 2, 1942, to the union of Joe Frank Booker and Pauline Smith Booker. 

Doris grew up in Garland, Texas and received her diploma from George Washington Carver High School. 

At an early age, she joined Sims Chapel Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as an usher for over fifty years. She had a heart for service and was known for her warm spirit and genuine hospitality. 

Doris built a career in management, but her true passion was caring for others. She found great joy in being a nanny to a host of babies and children, nurturing them with love and devotion. 

Doris was a loving wife, a phenomenal mother, a devoted sister, and a cherished aunt. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and strength to all who knew her. 

Doris departed this earthly life on April 13, 2026. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Jack Smart; her father, Joe Frank Booker; her mother, Pauline Jackson; a sister, Linda Pearl Williams; a brother, Tony Jackson and a special sister, Annell Williams. 

To carry on her memory and legacy, she leaves behind her beloved son, Danny Paul Booker; one granddaughter, Asha Booker; five great grandsons, Damion Roseman, Christopher Anderson, Caleb Dortery, Camron Dortery, and Ethan Paul Rose. 

She is loved and will be forever remembered by her two sisters, Louise Beamon and Ramona Young; a godson, Daylan Beamon; a special nephew, Reggie Brown; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her immensely. 

As we mourn her loss, we celebrate the love, warmth, and kindness that were the essence of her being. We find comfort in knowing that Doris’ legacy lives on through the priceless memories and love she shared, and those memories and love we will cherish forever.
