IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorise M
Miles
January 18, 1967 – January 6, 2026
Dorise was born on January 18, 1967, to the parentage of Lurlean and James D. Miles.
Dorise attended school in the Kaufman Independent School District in Kaufman Couty, Texas.
She later moved to Rockwall, Texas where she met the father of her children, Joe Earl Strange, Jr. She was a mother who possessed wisdom,
guidance, and quiet strength. She embodied love and patience in their truest forms – graceful, dignified and endlessly compassionate. She loved her children and grandchildren. She did everything she possibly could to make sure they were loved and well taken care of.
Dorise worked in Food Service for many years. She was a hard workerVwho had a nurturing spirit and kind heart. She was loved by her coworkers and all that came to know her. Dorise was full of life and lightVand met no strangers. She would give you the shirt off her back; always lending a helping hand to those in need.
Dorise attended Gospel Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Bishop David E. Martin until her demise. She was a devoted believer; she loved the Lord deeply and lived her faith through kindness, patience, and an ever-present sense of joy. We will forever remember her smile, her compassion, and the goodness within her.
Dorise is preceded in death by her parents, Lurlean and James D. Miles; the father of her children, Joe Earl Strange; her daughter, Tanaya Strange; a grandson, Kevin; and two brothers, Norman Thomas and Vincent Miles.
She leaves the following loved ones to cherish her memory: two daughters, Tamera Strange and Briana Strange; eight grandchildren, Mikayla, My'Kia, Damerion, Mariah, Ja'Mera, Amiyah, Keniyah and Keyana; four siblings, Sharon Brown, Renae Miles, Alonzo Miles, and Denetra Miles; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
We love you heavy and will miss you deeply.
Rest in love – Until we meet again.
