IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Lee
Whaley
June 13, 1938 – November 24, 2023
Dorothy (Young) Whaley was born to the parentage of Oliver Young and
Laura Williams on June 13, 1938 in Big Sandy, Texas. She was the sister
to Alice Young and Oliver "Sonny" Young Jr.
Dorothy spent her formative years under the nurturing care of her family.
The family relocated to Rockwall, Texas and there she received her edu-
cation in the Rockwall Independent School District.
Dorothy met James Morgan Sr. in Fort Worth, Texas and to the couple
two beautiful children were born – James and Dorothy Morgan. She later
met JC Whaley and they were married, united as one on September 12,
1966. JC, Dorothy and the children started their life together as a happy
family. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother. Dorothy always put
the care of her family before herself.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a Certified Nursing Assistant in Los An-
geles, California and later in Delano, California. She loved helping and
caring for others. She also loved fishing, her cat Wallace and gardening.
Dorothy was a devoted, longtime Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed attend-
ing services with her family. She taught her children to be loving, inde-
pendent and strong.
Dorothy never met a stranger. She showed kindness to all people. Her
infectious spirit and warm heart sparked joy in all who she met. Dorothy
fully embraced both the great joys and deep sorrows along her life's jour-
ney, counting them all as part of Jehovah God's perfect plan for her life.
Her exuberant and welcoming personality will truly be missed by her
family and close friends.
On November 24, 2023, our Queen - Dorothy Whaley departed this
earthly life and entered into everlasting life with Jehovah God. She was
preceded in death by her husband JC Whaley; parents Oliver Young and
Laura Williams; brother Oliver "Sonny" Young Jr. and grandson Cody
