Obituary

On June 19, 2022, our beloved Elizabeth Scott went home to Heaven to  be reunited with her Lord and Savior at the age of 77.  Waiting there with open  arms for her were her beloved parents Harrison and Gladys (Bowers) Ingram and her sisters Frances C. Griffin, Gladys Mae Burns and Patricia A. Ingram.

Elizabeth was born on April 9, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the  second oldest in her clan of seven. She was a diligent sibling, ensuring that her  brothers and sisters were well taken care of as their mother, now widowed, was the sole provider for the home. She graduated from Northern Senior High School in 1964. The following year she married her love Kirk D. Scott. In 1969 she relocated to Chicago, Illinois where she lived for the next twenty-five years. It was here she graduated with honors from Kennedy King Community College with her Associate of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Development, it was this education that allowed her to do what she loved, educating the youth over the next 23 years of her life.

It was in 1976 on the platform of a Chicago train station that she gave her life to Christ. She was a faithful member of Prayer Tower C.O.G.I.C. from 1976 until 1994. In 1986 after serving in numerous positions from usher to choir member, and Sunday School teacher that she answered the call to the ministry. Missionary Scott never wavered in her faith or conviction for the word of God and taught it daily to those who "needed the word". In the summer of 1994 that she relocated to Garland Texas, soon after becoming a member of Victory Temple C.O.G.I.C continuing with her ministry and love for the youth. Elizabeth retired from teaching in 2006, however she continued carrying her torch for Christ and ministering.

She filled her retired days with her love of puzzles of all kinds, jigsaw, crossword, and word search included. You would find her crocheting her legendary blankets, going to church, listening to church, watching church, and ministering to those in her community. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and Chili's, she loved her some Chili's.

She loved her family as Christ loved the church and never missed an  opportunity to check in and see if they were "Reading their bibles and praying  daily!" Those left with the memories of a life well lived are, her brothers Harry  "Joe" Ingram (Cynthia), Richard H. Ingram (Vera), and Donald E. Ingram (Carlean); her daughter Angela C. Scott; son David Scott (Jaida); nine grandchildren: Jasmine C. Arias (Marcelino), Rayvn, Raygn, Zachary and Zharia Payne, Dajah N. Scott, D'Shawn and Daquaries Robinson, J'Lin A. Powell, and her great-grandchildren Jordan and Andres Carreon, Kai, Syar and Ivy Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
