Emmitt Earl Bean Jr., affectionately known as Jr., passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at Mes-quite Specialty Hospital in Mesquite, Texas. He was 66 years old.

Born on June 28, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, Jr. was the beloved son of the late Emmitt and Lillie Bean. A lifelong Dallas resident, graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in 1977. He went on to attend trade school, which prepared him for a distinguished 32-year career at Southern Methodist University, where he served with dedication until his retirement.

Jr. gave his life to the Lord at an early age and remained a faithful churchgoer until the relocation of his home church.

A man of simple joys, Jr. loved westerns and action-packed TV shows, but nothing stirred his passion like football—especially cheer-ing for his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He cherished family gatherings, particularly during the holidays, and savored his mother's home cooking and baking. In his life, Jr. treasured time spent with his sib-lings, nieces, and nephews. Whether through caretaking, delivering meals, or accompanying him to medical appointments, Jr. was a joy to be around.

Jr. is survived by his cherished sisters and brothers - Lula Robinson, Carla Robertson (George), Janet Johnson (Paul Sr.), Sonia Brigham (Darryl), Regina Taylor (Robert Sr.), Bernard Bean and Charles Bean (Cheryl). He also leaves behind his aunt, Della Ree Gibson; uncle, Haberham Gibson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and extend-ed family.

Jr.'s quiet strength, warmth, and great sense of humor will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
