Emzell Jones Jr. was born July 12, 1951, in Oakwood TX. To the parentage of Emzell Jones Sr and Pauline Jones who preceded him in death. He had five siblings precede him in death, Willie "Chicken George" Jones, Mildred Dianne Jones, Ever Jean Rucker, David Leroy Jones, and Eunice Nell Allen.

He graduated from Butler High School. At an early age, he united with Pine Top Baptist Church. He was worshiping the Lord at United Methodist Church in Oakwood Tx until he became ill.

He moved to Grand Prairie in 1968. Where he met and later married Thelma Tennon and to this union, three children were born.

He worked for Skillman Drugstore until it went out business. He then went on to work for Grand Prairie ISD in the Maintenance Dept. and later became a foreman in that department. He retired from GPISD after 40 years of dedicated service.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 48yrs, Thelma Jones, two daughters Wanda Jones (David Talley) Trina Jones McKinney of Grand Prairie TX, one son Emzell "Wimpie" (Ethel) Jones Jr. III of Hillsboro TX.  Stepmother Doris Jones of Palestine TX. Four sisters Darnell Jones and Darlene Jones of Grand Prairie TX, Treva (Brandy) Bailey and Andrea Bailey of Palestine TX. Six brothers Leonard Charles (Wanda) Jones of Oakwood TX, Terry Wayne (Angela) Jones of Burleson TX, Jerry Dean Jones of Austin TX, Tim Bailey, David Bailey and Richard (Talisha)Bailey all of Palestine TX. Twelve grandchildren Tiesha (Shawn) Curry, Natosha (Damarcius "Speedy") Ware, Dalveon Jones, Prentice Massie, Alfred Massie Jr, Emzell Jones Jr. IV, Tanesha Jones, Kim, Laura, Draylon (Trina), Tevin McGruder, Trina. Sixteen great-grandchildren. A very special son in law Alfred Massie, two special friends Albert Washington and Derek Hanks and a host of relatives and friends.
