Obituary

Fannie Maurine Timmons Ford was born on February 27, 1932, to Jack Metz Timmons, Sr. and Gladys Maurine Dowell Timmons in McKinney, Texas, and was called home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 11, 2021.

Fannie graduated from Doty High School in McKinney, TX, and went on to become a licensed hairdresser. She worked for 28 years as a Nurse's Aide at Collin Memorial Hospital, McKinney, TX, and after retirement worked at North Texas Job Corp and finally fully retired from McKinney ISD where she worked in the cafeteria at Valley Creek Elementary School.

Fannie united with the Mt. Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church at an early age and was a long-time choir member/pianist, served faithfully in Sunday School, children/youth department, Ushers, and Nurses. She loved God, her church and church family, her Pastor and First Lady, and was an active Deaconess and Mother of the Church at the time of her death.

Fannie had a sweet spirit, never met a stranger, and loved her seven children more than anything, evident by the way she constantly talked (bragged) about them. She was lovingly called Mama by her grandchildren and Gran Fan by her great-grandchildren. She also had many friends that were drawn to her because of her concern for others and her infectious smile. She often declared, "I love life and I love everybody!"

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Gladys Timmons, and three brothers, Lee Otis, Joe Louis, and Jack Timmons, Jr.

Fannie leaves to cherish her memory: Brothers, Benjamin (Nancy) Timmons (Fort Worth), Lucky Howard, and Sister-in-Law, Nancy Jane Timmons (McKinney). Seven children: Kenneth Redic, Gladys (Guy) Jordan, Evelyn (Lorenzo) Williams, Katie (Jerry) Morrison, Janice (Randy) Barkins, Lester Jefferson, and Sheila (Sherman) Shaw. She leaves 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.  Special nieces Belinda Booker, Deborah Liggins, and Brenda Williams and special nephew Joseph Brown, and a host of relatives, church family, and friends.
