Felix Arthur Harrison, aka Chick, Arthur Lee, Uncle Chick, Daddy, Brother and Friend. Felix was born January 24, 1946 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Florence Ola Lafayette –Harrison and Donnell Harrison (preceded in death). Chick grew up in the Dalworth community of Grand Prairie, Texas and was a resident of Texarkana, Texas until his passing May 30, 2019. He attended Dalworth School class of 1964. He attended Paul Quinn College, graduating in 1967 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology/Education.
Chick accepted Christ at an early age and began serving in his calling in the youth choir under the direction of his Aunt Thelma. He was a gifted musician, playing piano, keyboard, organ and drums. He spent his life serving God with those talents at Evening Chapel AME Church, St John Baptist Church in Mossier Valley, numerous churches in the DFW metroplex, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Chick was a gifted singer as well as musician.
Chick performed professionally with cousins Elaine Williams, Portia Williams, and Ronald Joe Williams as "The Realities" from 1963 to 1971 at various venues in DFW. The Realities made appearances on the popular Hi-Ho Shebang Show on KTVT Channel 11, Fred Astaire Cavalcade of Dancers, and recorded a single "No More Hanky Panky" in 1967.
Chick leaves his wife Kissey Harrison, beloved son Felix Harrison Jr., (Tookie) of Texarkana; Brothers, Dr. Charles Harrison (Shirley) of Grand Prairie, Davie Harrison of Grapevine, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved him dearly, classmates, choir members, musicians, pastors, and friends.
He is reunited with his mother and father, sisters Yvonne, Wanda, and Linda; brothers Leamon Gerald, Robert (Bobby), Frank (Hank), Wayne, Michael and Mitchell.
Farewell Chick, until we meet again. When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing it will be!
