IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Folasade M
Adetula
July 31, 1993 – May 7, 2025
Maya Adetula, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, was born on July 31, 1993, in Arlington, Texas, to Henry and Rosalynd Adetula. On May 7, 2025, Maya peacefully departed this life, leaving behind a legacy of service, faith, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Maya's life was marked by excellence, compassion, and a heart for others. She graduated from Mansfield High School in 2011, where she was not only a dedicated student but also a standout athlete. Her talents on the basketball court earned her a full athletic scholarship to Rice University, where she graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology.
During her time at Rice, Maya was a proud and active member of the Baptist Student Ministry. She lived out her Christian faith through meaningful service and outreach, participating in mission trips including one to Alaska, where she provided sports camps for underprivileged youth—combining her passion for athletics with ministry.
After college, Maya continued her pursuit of knowledge by taking additional coursework at the University of Texas at Arlington before embarked on a successful professional journey, beginning her career as a financial analyst with Redwood Investment. Her drive and skill later led her to a position with iHeartMedia, where she continued to thrive and grow in the corporate world.
Despite her accomplishments, Maya's greatest priority was her family. She moved to Arizona to be near her mother, and when her mother later relocated back to Texas, Maya followed— demonstrating the deep bond and love she held for her family. Her actions were a testament to her selfless spirit and unwavering devotion.
Maya was known for her gentle strength, warm smile, and enduring faith. She was a beacon of kindness and purpose, inspiring those around her with her dedication, generosity, and grace.
Cherishing her precious memory are her mother, Rosalynd Adetula; her father, Folayemi Henry Adetula (wife) Bimbo Adetula; sister, Folakemi Adetula; Grandmothers Rosa Hartfield and Nike Adetula, many other loving family members, friends, and colleagues whose lives were touched by her light.
Though her time with us was brief, Maya's impact was deep and lasting. Her life was a beautiful reflection of love, faith, and the quiet power of living with intention.
May she rest in eternal peace.
