Obituary

Forrest Dewayne "Wayne" Tennon, 69, of Dallas, Texas,
passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April
23, 2025, in Dallas. A devoted husband, father, grandfather,
brother, uncle, veteran, and man of deep faith, Forrest lived a life
marked by love, service, and unwavering commitment to his family
and community.

Born on August 17, 1955, in Dallas, Texas, Forrest was the beloved
son of Forrest Tennon and Blanche Butler. He graduated from South
Oak Cliff High School in May of 1973 and went on to serve his country
honorably in the United States Coast Guard for one term of four
years. His time in the military instilled in him a strong sense of discipline
and dedication that he carried throughout his life.
After completing his military service, Forrest pursued higher education
with determination and excellence. He earned a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at
Dallas on May 17, 1997. Never one to stop learning or striving for
more, he continued his academic journey and received a Master of
Business Administration degree from The University of Dallas on December
3, 1999.
Forrest's professional accomplishments were matched only by his personal
devotion to those he loved. He was a God-fearing Christian
whose faith guided every aspect of his life. As a faithful member of
Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Plano, Texas, for many years,
Forrest served joyfully in the S.H.O.U.T. ministry. Every Sunday
morning when he was able, he greeted congregants with warmth and
kindness; his smile and presence becoming a cherished part of the
church experience for many.

At the heart of Forrest's life was his family. He shared a deep and abiding
love with his wife Barbara "Tina" Tennon, his partner in all things
and the center of his world. Together they built a home filled with love
and laughter. He was a proud father to Joy Y. Hofer, Shannon D. Burks
and his wife Veronica; and Shantel R.T. Logan and her husband Leslie
"Jay" Logan Jr.

Forrest found strength and immense joy in being "Papa" to his grandchildren:
Leslie "LJ" Logan III, Zoey Logan, Bianca Burks, and Eliana
Burks. His eyes, along with his whole demeanor, would light up at the
mention of their names as they were truly the apples of his eye. Forrest
was also an adored uncle who was always there to provide endless support,
love and encouragement to each of his nieces and nephews, who
held a very special place in his heart.
