IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Glory Dean
Shelton
September 3, 1945 – August 19, 2023
A REMEMBRANCE AND HOMEGOING CELEBRATION OF
Glory Shelton
A Time to Reflect
Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every
matter under heaven.
A time to be born: Glory Dean Shelton was born to Gus and
Clemmie Shelton on September 3, 1945, and grew up in Karnack,
Texas. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School in
Karnack, Texas, where she learned a few little-known talents and skills
(e.g. played the clarinet, could type over 70 words per minute, and
wrote poems and other musings).
A time to live and work: After graduation, she eventually settled in
Dallas, Texas. Glory worked at Texas Instruments, Xerox, and Alcon
Pharmaceuticals to earn resources for earthly living. Her most
cherished work was the work she did for the Lord. She accepted Christ
as a young lady and worked tirelessly to perform her spiritual work.
She was a prayer warrior that prayed for people whenever (early in the
morning to the wee hours of the night) and wherever (at church, in
grocery stores, in hospitals, etc.). She was a faithful attendee and
humble worker at the churches she attended, serving as Sunday school
secretary and teacher, participated in the prison ministry, and even
acted in a play named, Heaven or Hell, that was written and directed by
Sister Sharon Blaylock.
