Herbert Glenn King "Herb" was born on May 27, 1935 to the parentage of Willie and Allie King. He was one of six children. Herb was raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. He attended Dalworth Elementary School in Grand Prairie, TX., and Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, TX. He later went on to serve five years in the United States Army.

In 1962, Herb was united in holy matrimony with Ruby Jean McAfee and they were married for 56 years.

He was preceded in death by, father Willie King, mother: Allie King, two brothers: Willie King, Jr. and Henry Joe King, daughter: Yolanda Dorcella King Allen (Benjamin); one granddaughter: Freddie Jean Evan and one grandson: Ray Ellis Evans; one son-n-l aw Robert Evans

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife: Ruby King, three daughters: Gwendolyn Evans, (Mike) Paris, TX, Sherry Brown (Thurman), Harker Heights, TX, Nena Roundtree (James), Fort Worth, TX, one Son: Jeffery King  (LaTonya) Grand Prairie , TX, two sisters Alice Pointer, Fort Worth, TX and Mattie King, Dallas, TX, one brother: Tommy King Grand Prairie, TX, Fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many lovable moments, cherished memories and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, faithful friends and his best friend Frank McGee,  his ace Dennis Tallie, special daughter-n-law Synthea King and a multitude of others.
