A GLIMPSE AT THE LIFE OF

On Tuesday June 27th, 2023

Homer Billy Crain heard the trumpets sound and
his name being called.  He followed the path God laid for him and took his
hand and crossed over to eternal rest and peace at the age of 79 years old.
"Billy" was born on November 10, 1943 in Waco, Texas to Jonathan and
Lucille Smith. The youngest of the bunch, Billy began his education in the
Waco Independent School District. After the family relocated to Grand
Prairie, Texas, Billy graduated from Dalworth High School in 1962 where he
made lifelong relationships with students and faculty.
Upon completing of high school, Billy married his sweetheart and love of his
life Gracie Biglow. To this union three children were born – Steven, Gina and
Marisse. Billy nourished his family with his love, kindness and faith. In 1967,
the youngest daughter Paula completed the family unit.
Billy was employed with Lockheed Martin (formerly "LTV" Ling-Temco-
Vought) where he retired after 36 years of loyal service.
Billy lived his life to the fullest through simple pleasures: chatting and being
with family and friends. He had an uncanny ability to reach people in a very
deep, positive and profound way. He was loved dearly, and his laugh and huge
presence will be missed.
Billy accepted Christ in his life at an early age. He was baptized at Pleasant
Olive Baptist Church in Waco, Texas. He later became the trustee and faithful
deacon at New Hope Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, Texas until his health
failed him.
Homer Billy Crain was preceded in death by his parents Johnathan and Lucille
Crain; oldest sister Jereline Henderson and oldest brother Roy Smith.
