IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacquelyn Renee
Bridges-Radford
July 15, 1958 – October 10, 2019
When service to others is embedded in your DNA, you will lead an extraordinary life. The DNA of Jacquelyn Bridges-Radford was a delicate blend of servanthood, creativity, style, authenticity, and humor.
Jacquelyn was born to Fredrick Mason and Elizabeth Scott on July 15, 1958, in Miami Florida. She spent her early years in Miami, while later moving to New Jersey, and finally landed in Dallas, Texas in the late 1970s. It was during these transitions and relocations that Jackie developed a love and appreciation for helping others.
While growing up in a Christian home, Jacquelyn accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Her commitment to living His commands was instilled in her by her grandmother who reared her, Suella Scott, and evident during her schooling at Coral Gables Senior High School and Miami-Dade College.
She first demonstrated her love for people when she began her employment for Child Protective Service at the State of Texas. She continued to pursue her passion when she was granted the opportunity to work at the Gene and Jerry Jones Center for Children at The Salvation Army. There she faithfully served as the Administrative Assistant and was later promoted to become a Lead Caseworker. It was then that her commitment to serving others was truly transformed.
Several times a year, Jackie would host dinners benefitting others at the Salvation Army. She would spend numerous hours and energy making sure they were perfect. She always wanted her clients to leave with three things: 1. A love for God, 2. A full stomach, and 3. A new wardrobe. Jackie went above and beyond at everything she put her mind to. Including taking in countless individuals and making them feel like her own.
Jacquelyn is survived by her husband of 15 years, Wilbern "Shenard" Radford and daughters Jacquelyn Rose, Franchesca Bridges, and LaQundria Barlow (Chris). She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Serenity and Chris Jr; one sister, Sandra Johnson (Aaron), three brothers-in-law, Cedric Leon Radford, Larry Keith Radford (Sharon), and Darrell Lonzell Radford (Mary). Many others will miss her, including a host of Godchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
