Obituary

Jailun was born on January 11, 2000 in Dallas, Texas to the parents of Shontasha Shaw and Michael Hunter at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Jailun was a member of Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church where he served on the Usher Board and accepted Christ at the age of 8.

Jailun began his educational journey at Gentry Elementary School in Mesquite, Texas. It was during this time that Julian decided to play little league football for the Mesquite Texans for over 6 years. As Jailun transitioned into his intermediate education at Agnew Middle School, he swiftly joined the Agnew Football and Basketball teams. Jailun went on to attend Mesquite High School, where he was a member of the Mesquite Football and Basketball teams his freshman and sophomore year. It was not until Jailun was 14, that he discovered his passion and love for music. From that moment forward, "DJ 2 Live" became a household name. Jailun had so much love and dedication for DJing and he had the opportunity to share his love with so many.

Jailun had expectations of becoming a Radio Engineer at 97.9 the Beat, by attending the Art Institute of Dallas, where he would have received his Bachelors in Audio & Radio Production, which he had just left from signing his agreement and acceptance letters before God called his angel home.

Jailun was a well-rounded young man that understood the importance of education, family and God. Jailun's smile was contagious. His laughter was healing and we could always count on Jailun to keep us laughing.

The only thing that Jailun loved more than DJing was his family and friends. At 18, Jailun's primary focus was to love us, protect us and make us proud.

Those left to hold Jailun's precious memories are his mother Shontasha Shaw; his father Michael Hunter; sisters: Margaret Horan, Shawnacie Anderson (Jarrett) and Kelsey Tharpe; brothers: Terrance Harrison, Semaj Hunter, Kendrick Dixson and Jarrett Young; maternal grandparents: Claudine Anderson, Tina Mumphrey (Tony) and Alvin Turner (Tammy); paternal grandmother: Judy Hunter; aunts: DiAna Shaw, Delores Denson, Demetria Watts, Gloria Habersham (Wade), Brenda Chiles and Demetris Davis; uncles: Greg Hunter, Satari Shaw, W.T. Williams (Tempie), James Hunter and Ethelton Richard. He also leaves his nephew Amir Young, his girlfriend Kierra Watson and a host of other loving cousins, family, extended family and friends.
