Jane Etta (Luster) Chester was born October 31, 1923 in Greenwood, Louisiana to Mattie Powell-Luster and Alonzo Luster. She was raised by her late Mother Mattie Powell Black and Stepfather Will Black. Ms. Jane confessed Christ at an early age.
As a young woman, she met and married Listell Chester, Sr. a military man. They traveled the world together. To this union five children were born: Listell Chester, Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX; Shirley Coffey of Chicago, Ill. and Twins Margaret Young of Chicago, Il and Mattie Gooden of Arlington, TX and Tammy Colley of Ft. Worth, TX; Two son in laws, Frank Gooden Jr. o Arlington, TX and Phillip Colley of Ft. Worth, TX.
As a military wife, she moved to Chicago, IL to be near her sisters Lonzetta Sanders and the late Edna Black. After visiting her daughter in Texas, she decided to move to Grand Prairie where she often visited as a child her late Aunt Lula Bell Greggs. She got a job at Wyatt's Cafeteria and worked there until she retired.
