Houston
Sep 25, 1953 — Jul 4, 2018
Janice Marie Hawthorne-Houston was born September 25, 1953 to loving parents Allen W. and Margaret R. (Lee) Hawthorne, both preceded her in death. Jan was a passionate and loving person, who greeted everyone with a smile. She graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1971. She was a giving individual who loved to enjoy life, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was an active member of Evening Chapel A.M.E church, and loved the Lord. She took joy in helping others, and often gave food to assist families in need. Even during her time of illness, she was always inquiring about the well-being of others.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her son, Kenyon Montez, who proceeded her in death. And, often cherished the memories of her brothers Jimmie Earl Hawthorne and Kenneth Hawthorne, and her sister Mae Katherine, who all proceeded her in death.
She leaves so many beautiful memories that will be cherished by so many, but especially by her six sisters: Barbara Jo Hawthorne-Goodwyn, Margaret Biglow-Gipson, Sheira Price, Tywanna Luckey (Robert), Donna Danso (John) and Tongia Stevens-King (Eric). Her three brothers: Larry D. Hawthorne, Allen Hawthorne, Jr (Sarah) and Gary L. Hawthorne. Her Uncle, Jack Brown. Two sisters-in-laws: Catherine Hawthorne and Tatrice Hawthorne, her many nieces and nephews, that she adored. And, a host of loving cousins, other relatives and friends.
She departed this earth July 4, 2018.
