Janis Cheatham was born on November 16, 1949 to C.V.
and Lucille Mims of Waco, Texas. She received her formal
education from Grand Prairie Independent School District
where she graduated from Dalworth High School.
Janis later married MacArthur Cheatham Sr. and to this
marriage, four children were born: Bonita, Aretha,
MacArthur and Anita Cheatham.
Janis lived her life to the fullest. She was a very loving
lady who connected with people and made a lasting mark
on anyone who met her. Janis loved with her whole heart;
to have known her and felt her love was a blessing.
Janis is preceded in death by her parents C.V. and Lucille
Mims; brother C.V. Mims Jr.; and sister Gwendolyn Mims.
Those left to celebrate her life and legacy are her children
Bonita Chatman (Dennis), Aretha Henton, MacArthur
Cheatham Jr (Joelle) and Anita Cheatham (Jerome);
grandchildren Damiyon, Antwone, Nykiva, Jasmine
(Anton), Rayla, Neisha, Alana (Matthew), Sharicka, Alivia,
Addy; great grandchildren Janiyah, J'Kyla, Damiyon Jr.,
Payton, Desmonte Jr., and Harmoni.
She also leaves to cherish her memories: Donald Mims,
Brenda Mims, Eddie Mims, Larry Mims (Katie), Rickey
Mims and Teresa Mims; special friend Alice Phillips and
Rita Smith and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives
and friends.
