Rev. Jeffery C. Calhoun
Jeffery was born on December 20th, 1959, to Helen
Ward. He completed his education at Scurry High
School and attended Prairie View A&M. Jeffery
embraced Christianity at an early age, after learning about
the teachings of Jesus from his grandfather Jessie
Calhoun. Jeffery was later baptized by Reverend J.H
Flewellen.
Jeffery became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist
Church and later was known as Reverend Calhoun.
Jeffery recently found a new church home and
transitioned to attending Greater Golden Gate
Missionary Baptist Church.
Jeffery was known for his passion for sports and was
a dedicated fan of basketball, football, and baseball.
During his high school years, Jeffery actively participated
in basketball, baseball, and track events.
Jeffery is remembered by friends and family as
being a compassionate man who was always willing to
help others in addition to being known for his healthy
appetite for tasty food.
Jeffery is preceded in death by his mother, Helen
Ward, brother Brad Ward, Grandfather Jessie Calhoun,
Grandmother Ruth Calhoun and niece Daumyneke
Rollins. He is survived by his children, Kashedra,
Kevonte, and Jonavon, as well as his siblings, Wendell,
Carolyn, Kevin, and Greg.
