Ghoston

Jimmie Ghoston was the middle child of 5 born to Mary and Jerry Ghoston. He was born on November 13, 1924. He gained his wings on December 4, 2018. He attended school in Camp County, Pittsburg, Texas.
He became an ordained minister in the early 1940's. He also served his country in World War II. He was a great speaker and a Man of God. He pastored St. James Baptist Church in Lucas, Texas for many years. He also was a member of Kaiser Street Baptist Church in Garland, Texas under the leadership of Rev. L.W. Wilson and Caddo Baptist Church under the leadership Rev. Willis. He retired from Garland Independent School District. He loved fishing, hunting and playing dominoes.
Jimmie was preceded in death by both his parents; four siblings: Lou Addie Wallace, Annie Viola Ghoston, Willie Ghoston and Timothy Ghoston; wife Burdia Ghoston; son Naylor Ghoston and son-in-law Donald Dawson.
He is survived by one son: Byron Ghoston (Johnita) of Allen, Texas; two daughters: Linda Dawson (Kent) of Mesquite, Texas and Brenda Dawson of Garland, Texas; one step-son: Robert Vine (Lois) of Mesquite, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
