IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmie L.
Harrison
July 26, 1944 – July 16, 2024
Today August 10th, 2024, we celebrate the life and homegoing of Jimmie Roy Harrison. He was born July 26th, 1944, to Edward Harrison, Sr. and Aridean Vivian Smothers-Harrison and is the youngest of seven siblings. On July 16th, 2024, he traded his earthly bed for his heavenly home in glory.
Today we celebrate the homegoing of Jimmie who grew up in Caldwell, Texas in the community of Bell Town. He attended Caldwell Independent School District and graduated from Freeman High School where he played trumpet in the marching band.
After graduating high school he relocated to Brownwood, Texas where he met and married Eula B. Moore. There were four children born to this union.
Jimmie's employment career included Colliers/Wilsie Foods and General Motors.
Jimmie was an avid sports fan who loved the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and the Texas Rangers, just to name a few. His hobbies include playing dominoes, fishing, hunting, bowling and watching Old School TV shows (The Rifleman, Bonanza, Kojak, Perry Mason, Gun Smoke and In the Heat of the Night). Jimmie coached the St. John Women's Softball Team - The Superstars who won the City Championship and qualified for Regionals and State Tournaments. He also coached the "Phantoms" girls team for the GPGSA (Grand Prairie Girls Softball Association).
Jimmie accepted the Lord at an early age and joined the Providence Baptist Church. Other church memberships include Little Zion Baptist Church (Brownwood, TX), St. John Church Unleashed (Grand Prairie, TX) and Parkview Fellowship Baptist Church (Arlington, TX) where he was an active member. He served as a Greeter and filled in as a Bible Study Leader. He loved the Lord and lead a persistent prayer life where he would pray for many to encourage and inspire others.
