Jimmie Smith, 67, of Grand Prairie, TX passed Thursday,
February 23, 2023 following an aggressive battle against Chronic
Kidney Disease.
Jimmie was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 10, 1955 and
graduated from Longfellow High School and later served in the
United States Marine Corps. After his Military service, Jimmie
began his forty year career with the United States Post Office.
During his time with USPS, he made many lifelong friends and
was known to always lend a hand and help out. Most importantly,
Jimmie was a devoted fisherman who took any opportunity to
catch some fish! The Crappie King kept many people supplied
with his fresh catches. When he wasn't thinking about fish Jimmie
enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams and taking trips to the
casino.
Jimmie is survived by his loving children Michelle Wilson and
James Smith; his sister Marlene "Betty" Lee (Marsy); honorary
daughters Teresa Linzy and Patricia Searcy, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren and extended family.
Jimmie is proceeded in death by his mother Johnnie Louise Smith,
father Dock Mitchell and his Sister Delois "Dottie" Carswell.
